Wall painting contest at Biswanath College

 BISWANATH CHARIALI, Oct 4 - A wall painting competition entitled ‘Rang’ was held at Biswanath College, here on Friday under the aegis of Biswanath Chariali Anchalik AASU, Biswanath College Students’ Union and IDOL, Biswanath College in which around 209 painters from Jia Bharali to Howajan took part to make the walls of the college a lively one.

The competition was inaugurated by Nahid Afrin, the runners up of Sony TV’s Indian Idol Junior by drawing a symbol of music on a wall.

Earlier, flag hoisting was done by Amarjyoti Borthakur, a senior professor of the college followed by Swahid Tarpan by Duldul Borkataki, Central Assistant Secretary of AASU.

The programme was conducted by Associate Professor Rajeswar Bodo, Rupam Das, Ranjit Kakati, Jyoti Prasad Saikia and Writuparna Lasker.

The competitors portrayed pictures on various themes including ethnic culture of Assam, the rural life, environment, global warming, attack on World Trade Centre, Bhupen Hazarika, Mahatma Gandhi, Kanaklata, Mukunda Kakati etc., which drew the attention of art lovers. Bitupan Bhuyan of Dhalaibil was adjudged the best painter.
