Citizens panel visits Churachandpur

 CHURACHANDPUR, Oct 4 - An eleven-member team of newly-formed Citizens Committee, Manipur (CCM) led by its chairperson Radhabinod Koijam, former Manipur Chief Minister visited the trouble-torn Churachandpur town on Saturday.

Expressing the need to bring a solution, the CCM has appealed for restoration of peace and normalcy in the district as soon as possible. The team also handed over items and monetary help for the August 31 and September 1 victims.

Koijam expressed the need to bring a solution at the earliest by sorting out the differences. In a statement, CCM Convenor Babloo Loitongbam said, “The CCM felt that a solution should be reached between the State Government and the agitators”. The CCM also paid respect to those who lost their lives during the agitation and met leaders of various communities and NGOs.
