Akhil charges malicious, false: News Live
Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Oct 4 – Reacting to allegations levelled by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity general secretary Akhil Gogoi about ‘corporate fraud’ indulged in by News Live, a local satellite channel, the latter today termed the charges as malicious, false and with an intent to gain cheap publicity.

News Live, in a statement, said that “all stakeholders of the channel are genuine, the sources of funding bonafide, and necessary compliance has been done as per the guidelines for downlinking and up-linking licence of satellite television.”

Stating that the channel was not answerable to Gogoi and he was free to approach any authorities concerned to verify the credentials of the stakeholders, it said that it was ready to defend all such ‘wild and malicious’ allegations in the appropriate platform.

“All financial dealings of News Live are very much transparent and within the parameters of the law and also according to all norms of good corporate governance…we request Akhil Gogoi to approach RBI, SEBI and other regulatory authorities if he has any doubts about the stakeholders,” it said.
