PATACHARKUCHI, Oct 2 - Preparations are on for celebration of the silver jubilee of Bajali Teacher’s Training College, Patacharkuchi on October 7-8.
A celebration committee with Dharanidhar Roy as president, Girindra Nath Sarma, Binod Roy and Hitesh Goswami as vice-presidents, Dr Homeswar Das as secretary and other office-bearers is working to make the programme a success.
On the first day, ‘Mangalacharan’ and lighting of ceremonial lamp will be done by Munindra Narayan Goswami, a literary pensioner and social worker. Dr Homeswar Das, principal of the college and secretary of the celebration committee will hoist the college flag while the flag of the silver jubilee celebration will be hoisted by Dharanidhar Roy, president of the celebration committee. Smriti tarpan will be performed by Biren Kumar Kalita , i/c Patacharkuchi Police Station, swahid tarpan by Jitendra Nath Das, president of the Patacharkuchi Development Committee, gate will declared open by Dr Utam Chandra Pathak, ex-principal of Bhabanipur Anchalik College, while the gate for the celebration will declared open by Hiren Sarma.
A cultural procession will be taken out which will be flagged off by Pabindra Deka, MLA, Patacharkuchi LAC. The stage will be declared open by Bhabit Ch Haloi, president of the GB of the college, the present and ex-students meet will declared open by Dr Bhupesh Ch. Sarma, principal of NH College while Dr Tarani Deka, HoD, Assamese, Gauhati University will conduct the meet. A seminar on ‘Role of teachers on value and quality-based education’ will be conducted by Dr Jonali Chetia, Professor, USTM.
The second day’s programme will begin with drawing completion to be jointly conducted by Jioy Shankar Sarma and Mrinmoy Sarma. Quiz competition will be conducted by Chandana Devi and Krishna Talukdar, lecturers of the college. A kavi samilan will be conducted by Surendra Kumar Lauzary and a felicitation programme will be held at noon. The open meeting will be held in the forenoon where Pabindra Deka will attend as chief guest, Thaneswar Malakar, DC Barpeta and S Chetia, SP Barpeta will be the special guests, while Dr G Khataniar, Academic Registrar, GU and Dr Biswajit Sarma, Director of College Development Council will be the appointed speakers. Popular writer Phanindra Kumar Dev Choudhury will attend as invited guest and Prerna Sarma, SDO (Civil) Bajali and A Natarajan will be the guests of honour. The entire celebration will conclude with a cultural programme where Barnali Kalita and Nil Akash will perform.
