|Summary revision of electoral rolls in Nagaland|
DIMAPUR, Oct 2 - Nagaland State Election department launched the draft Electoral Rolls for Special Summary Revision in Kohima on October 1.
Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Kumar urged all the stakeholders to be proactive in bringing out clean and accurate Electoral Rolls so that the State can have free and transparent elections.
The main purpose of the Special Summary Revision is to ensure that any voter who has attained the eligible age is not left out, he said. At the same time, it is to purge multiple entries and manipulation in the E-Roll.
He also urged the political parties, NGOs and others to actively extend full cooperation and support in order to achieve the statutory process for Special Summary Revision.
Political parties like BJP, NCP and AAP participated in the programme.
