IMG Reliance official visits city
Sports reporter
GUWAHATI, Oct 1 – Ashu Jindal, vice-president of IMG Reliance visited the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium at Sarusajai here today. IMG Reliance is interested in making the city a venue for the proposed IPL-like football league with a team from here. If it happens, some matches of the championship will be played here.

The IMG Reliance official today took stock of the Sarusajai stadium which is really in a pathetic condition.

Later Jindal met State Sports Minister Ajit Singh in his official chamber where Sports Commissioner, Sports Director, AFA secretary Ankur Dutta, Sports Authority of Assam vice-chairman Rana Goswami were also present.

Apparently Jindal is not satisfied with the conditions of the main and practice grounds of the stadium. The flood lights also needs improvement as per FIFA guidelines.

The facilities in the dressing rooms and toilets also need drastic improvement. The Sports Minister meanwhile has assured all possible help to uplift the facilities in the stadium.
