6 State boxers in semis

 GUWAHATI, Nov 27 – Assam had a field day at the Senior National Women Boxing Championship at the Sarusajai sports complex here today with as many as 6 boxers qualifying for the semifinals. In today’s quarterfinal matches, Bhagyabati Kachari (75kg) beat Amandeep Kaur of Punjab 11-0 while Minu Basumatary (60kg) got the better of Storia Teron 10-0. In 51kg, Anjali Muchahary beat Sarika Kumari 12-2 and Anita Kahar defeated T Temsumaro Tsudin 31-4. Assam’s Namita Kachari meanwhile lost to Seema of Rajasthan 17-27. Pwilao Basumatary continued her winning form by beating Khuraijan of Nagaland 16-7 in the 54-57 kg category and Rumi Gogoi defeated Jharna Sanghavi 23-9 in the 57-60 kg group.
