AGP launches ‘Gana Sachetanata Mah’ at Nalbari

 NALBARI, Nov 26 – The Asom Gana Parisad (AGP) today launched a month-long ‘Gana Sachetanata Mah’ in Nalbari district to attract the voters in the ensuing Panchayat elections.

Launching the ‘Gana Sachetanata Mah’ at a large public meeting held at Nalbari Lakhimi pathar, former Chief Minister and the AGP president Prafulla Kumar Mahanta said that during the Congress regim in the State price hike, unemployment and erosion problems have adversely affectet the people. He alleged that the Congress Government is busy in the distribution of fair price rice, blanket and yarn among the poorer sections but they have no vision to uplift those sections of the society. The Tarun Gogoi-led Congress Government has miserably failed to utilise Rs 3000 crore meant for Panchayat and rural development, Mahanta added.

He further said that due to the misrule of the Congress Government, the Guwahati city has turned into a place of arms smugglers.

The chief of the regional party who first visited the district after his election as the party president said that the party will perform better in the Panchayat elections. He called upon the people to oust Congress from Panchayat level.

The meeting presided over by Ananda Rajbongshi, president of District AGP, was addressed among others by AGP working president Atul Bora, former president Chandra Mohan Patowary, former State Transport Minister Pradip Hazarika, and Ramendra Narayan Kalita. Thousands of people from different parts of the district took part in the rally.
