Dalai Lama to inaugurate Tathagatha Preserve

 GANGTOK, Nov 26 – A delegation of senior Sikkim Government officials led by Rajya Sabha MP Hishey Lachungpa called on Dalai Lama at his official residence at McLeodganj, Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh last week to invite him to inaugurate the Tathagatha Preserve at Rabong in South Sikkim in March next year.

Dalai Lama has consented to visit the Tathagatha Preserve which comprises of the Lord Buddha’s statue and Eco Garden, for the inauguration from March 24 to 28 next year.

The new pilgrimage and tourist attraction has been given the new name of Tathagatha Preserve by Dalai Lama. He has also visited the project site and has also stayed and held teachings there.

The inauguration is slated for March 25 and he is also expected to hold a teaching at the Congregation Centre at the preserve, a press communique issued today said.
