Phanindra Nath Brahma passes away

 KOKRAJHAR, Nov 25 – Educationist and social worker Phanindra Nath Brahma is no more. Brahma breathed his last at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) around 5:15 pm Sunday. He was 85.

 A former APSC member and ex-principal of Kokrajhar College, Brahma was rushed to the GMCH following a massive heart attack he suffered on Sunday morning. He leaves behind one son and two daughters.

Brahma served as the chairman of the Kokrajhar Municipality Board, a member of the ST Development Corporation, Government of India and was also associated with different social organisations. He also served as the president of the Kokrajhar District Congress Committee for a long time and a member of BTC Senior Citizens Forum.

Meanwhile, the BTC administration declared a half holiday today as a mark of respect to the departed soul. Several political and non-political organisations have expressed deep sorrow over his sudden death and condoled the bereaved family members. His last rites were performed on Monday in presence of a large gathering.
