Night curfew continues in Bijni for second day

KAJALGAON, Nov 25 – Curfew during the night continued for the second consecutive day in Bijni sub-division, but no untoward incident was reported in the last 24 hours, reports PTI.

According to officials, the District Magistrate decided to continue with the 12-hour-long curfew from 6pm to 6am to avert any possible disturbance.

Curfew was clamped for 12 hours last night in Bijni sub-division after a mob attacked a police outpost, after a businessman was kidnapped by suspected NDFB(S) militants.

Angry locals had protested and attacked the Ballamguri Police Outpost and burnt a house nearby alleging failure in protecting the youth.

The police lathicharged and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse the mob.
