Assam clinch team title

 GUWAHATI, Nov 25 – Assam won the team title in the Eastern India Body Building Championship held at Itanagar yesterday, stated a release. Altogether 150 bodybuilders from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Assam and host Arunachal Pradesh took part in the championship organised by the Arunachal Body Building Association.

 Competitions were held in six weight categories in the meet where a total amount of Rs 1.5 lakh was at stake as prize money. The champion of champions was awarded Rs 50,000. M Suraj of Manipur walked away with the Eastern India Champion of the Champions title while Robi Meitei of Assam bagged the first runners-up crown. W Kiran Singh of Manipur was the second runners.

Performances of the Assam team: (55kg) Dipu Dutta-1st, Subhankar Das-2nd. (60kg) Mrinal Das- 2nd, Amit Neog- 5th. (65kg) Dilip Deuri-1st. (70kg) Khiprajit Hazarika-5th. (75kg) Robi Meitei -1st, Shabin Sharma-3rd, Sumit Saikia-5th. (Above 75kg) Kushal Changmai-3rd.
