NPCC concern over NIA probe against Nagaland employees
DIMAPUR, Nov 24 - Expressing concern on the recent spate of Nagaland Government officials being victimised by NIA on allegations of terror funding, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has alleged that the probe by the agency against Government officials has exposed the doublespeak of BJP and the callousness of NPF.

“There is no subject in Nagaland that has not paid illegal taxes. It is not only the Government employees or Government agencies that have succumbed to extortion demands; rather all business establishments, contractors, suppliers and even village councils are at the receiving end,” NPCC pointed out in a statement.

“Seeing the plight of people and Government employees caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, we cannot remain silent and let things deteriorate to the point of no return,” the party said while alleging that the Centre has deliberately avoided providing sustenance to designated camps. It further alleged that the ceasefire ground rules agreed upon between Government of India and various factions have been conveniently forgotten.

“Over the years, the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers have become mute spectators by silently allowing officers to compromise with extortion demands,” it said.

The Congress demanded that NIA should go into the root cause of succumbing to extortion demands rather than harassing the Government employees.
