Sikkim CBSE Board exam papers leaked

 GANGTOK, Nov 24 – Confirming that the question papers for Social Studies and English of class IX CBSE Board exams have been leaked out, the Sikkim Human Resource Development department has announced fresh dates for the two examinations with a new set of question papers.

About 7,500 students are appearing for the class IX Board exams from the State. Secretary, HRD department, R Telang while confirming the incidence of question paper leak to this correspondent, added that since no complaints were received for Science, Mathematics and Language subjects, pertaining to possible leakage of questions of the subjects, the department would not go for a re-examination for these subjects.

Observing the incident as a ‘serious’ one, the Secretary told this correspondent that he has filed an FIR with the Police for security breach of the Government Press, where the question papers were printed, adding that investigations are on.

Telang, though refusing to blame anybody in particular for the serious security breach, added that he would be meeting Home Secretary, Jasbir Singh regarding the incident. The department would be tightening security measures to avert such incidents in future, he also said.
