Cleanliness drive launched

 GUWAHATI, Nov 22 – Baghorbori Asomi Mahila Samiti of Panjabari today launched a programme ‘Nijor Paduli Nijor Suburi’ (Clean the front of your home and your locality) as a daily exercise in response to the call of the Prime Minister to make the country clean as part of his Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Senior journalist DN Chakravartty inaugurated the programme by taking up the broom.

Urmila Chakravorty, president of the Mahila Samiti and Dr Chandraprabha Bhuyan appealed to the woman members to ensure that the locality was kept neat and clean everyday throughout the year.

About 200 enthusiastic women with brooms in their hands toiled and cleaned the one-km-long Homoeopathic College Road.
