|Nilambazar rape victims identify five accused|
NILAMBAZAR, Nov 20 - Five persons accused of gang-raping two girls from Tripura recently were paraded for identification in the Karimganj jail on Friday, during which the victims identified the accused in the presence of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Karimganj, police sources said.
It may be mentioned that six people have been arrested so far by the Karimganj police in connection with the gang-rape that had taken place at Nilambazar on the night of November 13.
The girls had been raped when they were returning home after visiting their mother, a cancer patient who is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
A team of police took the girls to Nilambazar to identify the building where they were raped.
After reaching the building located near a government-recognised skill development centre, the cops arrested Abdul Ahad, who is a mason. The other five accused are Abu Bakkar, Amir Ali, Sumon Ali, Samsul Uddin and Anowar Hussain.
Blood samples of the accused persons have also been collected by police at the direction of the court.
