GUWAHATI, Nov 20 - “Students are the future citizens of the country and the country cannot progress without intellectual and physical development of the students. Therefore, society, along with the government, must strive for scientifically identifying and developing the latent talents in the students for making them ideal citizens of the country.”
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today stated this while speaking as the chief guest at the State Level Gyan Yatra, Kala Utsav and Band Competition, 2018, organised by Samagra Shiksha, Assam, at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in the city.
Saying that no one can achieve excellence in today’s age of science and technology without a competitive spirit, the Chief Minister said that these events provide a platform to the students to exhibit their talents and inculcate a healthy competitive spirit.
While stressing the need to provide a conducive environment for growth to the students at both home and school, Sonowal also urged the State level award-winning schools in arts, culture, sports, etc, to strive for achieving success at the national level as well.
Judicious use of technology would immensely benefit the students while its misuse can ruin their potential, he warned.
