Jajabor’s ashes immersed in Yomgo

 AALO (ARUNACHAL), Nov 18 – After public prayers, rituals and homages on a raised platform at Cozy Breeze Point on the bank of Yomgo river, the ashes of Bard of Brahmaputra was immersed amidst the gloom that descended on the faces of the public yesterday, a Press release said.

The ashes was immersed with full tradition with the help of Assamese community from Assam and Naamghar, Aalo so that it mingles with river Siang and Brahmaputra which fascinated the balladeer to compose many of his songs to make him the Bard of Brahmaputra.

The General Secretary All India Youth Congress Nyamar Karbak, West Siang Deputy Commissioner Amjad Tak and former Minister Doi Ado recalled the contributions of late Hazarika in the development of film and music in the State and paid floral tributes. They also expressed their gratitude to Arunachal Chief Minister for facilitating the ashes of the great soul for the public and music lovers of the district to pay their last homage.

Renowned singer, Moge Doje dedicated his popular song Oh Bidekhi Bondhu on the occasion. The Siang Star Music Band also paid rich tributes to the music maestro.

Earlier, Circle Officer of Aalo Mary Taloh spoke about the life of Dr Bhupen Hazarika and Aalo DIPRO, Gijum Tali extended his gratitude to all walks of people for their participation. A two-minute silence was also observed on the bank of Yomgo as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
