World Philosophy Day observed
 GUWAHATI, Nov 17 – World Philosophy Day was observed today in the department of philosophy at Handique Girls’ College. The annual wall magazine titled Vision, with this year’s theme ‘Love of wisdom’ prepared by the students, was unveiled by the vice principal of the college, Dr Alaka Chakravarty.

 The day was dedicated to the memory of Ahmeda Rasul, ex-HoD, Philosophy and former Principal of the college.

The central theme of this year’s World Philosophy Day is preservation of environment for the future generation. The observance of the day saw active participation of both teachers and students. Highlighting the importance of the day, the teachers, in their speeches spoke on the importance of philosophy in their lives.

The students were also addressed by the vice principal of the college, Dr Nirupama Mahanta, Dr Juthika Das and Dr Madhuchanda Chaliha Bhuyan apprised the students about the importance of the day.
