NCP only alternative in Nagaland: Conrad Sangma
Correspondent
DIMAPUR, Nov 16 – Close on the heels of withdrawing support to the NPF-led DAN Government in Nagaland, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has claimed that many State bureaucrats and leaders from other political parties have voiced desire to join the party affirming belief that NCP is the only alternative to run the affairs of the State.

This was stated by Meghalaya Leader of Opposition Conrad K Sangma during a brief interaction with media persons on Sunday at the State NCP office here when he also claimed that people in the State are not happy with the functioning of the DAN Government.

Sangma said, gauging from the sentiments of the public, the NCP would make a major impact in the forthcoming general election in the State.

Commenting on the withdrawal of the party from the DAN coalition government, the NCP leader said the decision was taken after a hard and intensive introspection. He was confident that the party would be able to cater to the public in addressing their needs.

He further stated that the decision to withdraw support from the ruling NPF-led DAN Government was made with the approval of the high command. He was of the opinion that the withdrawal was made in the best interest of the party and was most appropriate while stating that the major DAN partner, namely NPF, had never taken the party into confidence on policy matters.
