Over 400 kids take part in children’s fest

 GUWAHATI, Nov 12 - City-based Axel’s Kindergarten in association with Axel Public School recently organised a kids fest on the theme ‘Reduce, Recycle and Reuse’ here, according to a delayed press release issued here.

“The fest aimed at promoting environmental awareness among the kids in a fun and festive manner. More than 400 children from all over Guwahati between the age of 4 and 12 years competed in dance, singing, talent hunt, fashion show and drawing competitions.

The fest was inaugurated with the free distribution of more than 2,300 cloth bags among the general public by the students of Axel Public School. The bags were stitched from recycled cloth at the school under Upakram, an initiative of Axel Public School. The entire setup of the fest was made from waste like plastic bottles, old books, egg trays, tyres, etc.

Moreover, participants in the fashion show carried an accessory made of waste.

Winners of the various competitions were given cash awards along with trophies, saplings and certificates. Noted personalities including artiste Kamal Kotoky, fashion designer Kunal Kaushik, model Debojit Paul, tablist Surjya Goswami, dancer Uday Shanker and others attended the fest.
