Old-age pension released in Manipur

 IMPHAL, Nov 8 - The pension benefit under Manipur Old Age Pension (MOAP) scheme has been released and transferred to the respective accounts of over 45,000 beneficiaries for 12 months through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), official sources said.

The pension amount of Rs 200 per month, i.e., Rs 2,400 per beneficiary from March 2017 to February 2018 was transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries on the eve of Ningol Chakouba festival. Meanwhile, Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has greeted the people of Manipur on the eve of Ningol Chakouba festival of the State which falls on Friday.

“Ningol Chakkouba rejuvenates family ties and strengthens the bond of love and affection between brothers and sisters, mothers and daughters and fathers and daughters, helping in promotion of unity and integrity in the society,” Dr Heptulla said in a message on Thursday. Chief Minister N Biren Singh also greeted the people on the occasion of the festival.
