Diwali celebration at Bumla

 ITANAGAR, Nov 8 - A ceremonial Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) was organised by the Indian Army at Bumla in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on Wednesday to jointly celebrate ‘Diwali’ festival.

The delegations, led by Colonel Prasenjit Kar from Indian side and Colonel Yang Zi Ming from Chinese side, interacted and exchanged greetings in a cordial atmosphere.

The meeting began with the hoisting of national flags and included lighting of traditional Diwali Diyas and the ceremonial address. Both sides highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and tranquility along border areas, besides ensuring sanctity of LAC. Highlight of the BPM were the colourful and impressive performances by cultural troupes, showcasing ‘Real India’ to the friendly neighbours.
