Assam girls enter main round

 GUWAHATI, Nov 8 – With three consecutive victories, Assam qualified to play in the national level of the Senior Women Inter State One-day Cricket Championship.

In the third match of the East Zone championship at NF Railway Stadium, Maligaon today, Assam trounced Tripura by seven wickets.

Tripura were all out for 106 in 47.2 over and in reply Assam girls cracked 107 losing three wickets in 37.1 overs.

Opener Sapna Choudhury top scored with 55 for Assam while Ritu Dhrub remained unbeaten with 21.

For Tripura, RR Saha (28), RH Das (25), RK Debbarma (20) were the notable contributors.

Bengal win: In the other match at Assam Cricket Association stadium at Barsapara, Bengal defeated Jharkhand by six wickets. Chasing a modest target of 126 set by Jharkhandin after batting first, Bengal got the required runs in 39.2 overs losing four wickets.
