GORESWAR, Nov 7 - The silver jubilee celebrations of Rainbow English School will be held from November 9 here at the school premises in Baksa district with a three-day colourful programme.
As per the programme, on November 9 morning, Gajen Basumatary, former president of the governing body of the school will hoist the main flag of the celebrations.
Kshitish Chandra Brahma, former principal of Rainbow English School will conduct the homage-giving programme.
Jitesh Biswas, assistant teacher of Singimari High School and former principal of Rainbow English School will initiate the tree plantation programme along with senior citizens of Goreswar, Subhas Ranjan Das, Hariprasad Bhuyan, Lohit Boro and social worker Jagat Deka.
A cultural rally will be flagged off by Binod Narzary, Chairman of BRAWFED of BTC before the inauguration of an exhibition of art and science, which will be inaugurated by Bhumidhar Deka, president of the reception committee of the silver jubilee celebration committee.
A seminar on ‘Present Challenges of Secondary Education’ will be held where Partha Phukan Mahanta, principal of Teachers’ Training College will take part as the appointed speaker.
In the evening, following the lighting of the ceremonial lamp to be performed by Fajir Ali, Swapan Saha and Upen Daimary, a cultural nite programme will be inaugurated by Ghanakanta Deka, representative of ABRSM of London (UK).
On November 10, following the inauguration of a souvenir by Jadab Goswami, principal of Goreswar College, a get-together meet will be held among regular and ex-students, existing and ex-teachers, existing and former members of the governing body of the school, which will be inaugurated by Dambarudhar Sarmah, subject teacher of Goreswar Higher Secondary School and Haricharan Basumatary, founder of Rainbow English School.
A felicitation programme will be held on the chair of Preetha PK, principal of the school before the lightening of the lamp in the evening, which will be performed by mouzadar Mukul Choudhury of Betna mouza.
Distinguished social worker Madhab Deka will inaugurate a cultural nite in the evening.
On November 11, Maheswar Basumatary, EM of BTC will inaugurate the open session, which will be presided over by Mahidhar Boro, former principal of Goreswar Higher Secondary School.
While Dr Dinesh Baishya, former principal of B Borooah College, Guwahati will attend the open session as the appointed speaker, Biswajit Daimary, MP, Rajya Sabha will be the chief guest. Bhabesh Kalita, State Minister of Irrigation (Independent), Revenue and Disaster Management, Dr Ramesh Chandra Chutia, Inspector of Schools of Baksa district, Heramba Goswami, OC of Goreswar PS, Alokananda Medhi, Circle Officer of Goreswar, Prasanta Singha, OC of CRPF and Shavansh Tripathy, Commanding Officer of Goreswar Army Camp will attend as Guests of Honour.
