Kamaleswar Bora passes away

 GUWAHATI, Nov 5 – Noted educationist and administrator Kamaleswar Bora is no more. A former Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Bora breathed his last at a city hospital around 5.45 pm today, following a massive heart attack he suffered this morning. He was 87.

Bora, who also served the State Government in different capacities as a senior bureaucrat holding posts like Commissioner of Health, was an eloquent speaker with command over various subjects like history, philosophy, modern English, Assamese and Bengali literatures.

He served the Government Pensioners’ Association as its president for two terms and the Assam Senior Citizens’ Association as its president for the past eight years.

He leaves behind his wife Rina Bora, who is a member of the Central Social Welfare Board, two sons and a daughter.

His last rites will be performed at the Navagraha cremation ground tomorrow.
