Flagship schemes reviewed at Dhemaji

 DHEMAJI, Nov 1 - Senior official of Dhemaji district reviewed the ongoing schemes. In this connection a review meeting was held in which the officials presented the current status of the schemes.

The meeting focused objective, target and achievements of the flagship programmes implemented by various departments in the district. Thus, the department officials presented their reports with reference to the flagship schemes, physical targets and achievements right from the fiscal year 2014-15 to till date.

As per the reports, the district received over Rs 156.56 crore meant for MGNREGA works under panchayat and rural development during the last five fiscal years. As such, the department has completed construction of 17,003 PMAY houses in the district during the period. Moreover, the department has set a target to construct five block community toilets at different blocks under the district, but it has not achieved due to lack of fund.

The agriculture department has distributed 130 subsidized tractors under the CM SGUY during 2017-18. Similarly, it has constructed two water harvesting structures under the PMKSY during 2017-18.

The Public Health Engineering (PHE) department constructed 63,125 individual household latrines under SBM since its inception, besides construction of 26 units of Community Sanitary Complex. However, it has not implemented any project for solid and liquid waste management so far.
