|Dr Bhupen Hazarika death anniversary |
GUWAHATI, Nov 1 - Dr Bhupen Hazarika Foundation (BHF) and Kamrup Natya Samiti, in association with Pragjyoti Communications and Axom Sahitya Samaj, are all set to celebrate the fifth death anniversary of music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika on November 5.
A daylong programme including deliberations on two topics – one on the legend’s doctoral thesis submitted at Columbia University, USA, and the other on his contribution towards “bonding among the ethnic communities of North-east India” is being organised at Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir here from 11 am to 3 pm on that day.
Dr Irom Gambhir Singh, Professor of English, Manipur University, and Dr Haricharan Das, environmentalist, will take part in the forum as resource persons, informed Dipanka Hazarika, secretary, BHF, through a press statement.
Dr Amarjyoti Choudhury, former Vice Chancellor of the Gauhati University, will provide a perspective on the root and origin of Dr Hazarika’s timeless creations.
