‘Tech-Xetra, 2013’ concludes

 TEZPUR, Nov 1 – ‘Tech-Xetra’ the national-level annual technical festival of Tezpur University which was declared open on October 24 last by one of India’s most eminent social scientists, Prof Andre Beteille, Padma Bhushan and Professor Emeritus, Delhi University in the presence of Prof Mihir Kanti Choudhury, Vice Chancellor of the University, and other dignitaries came to a conclusion with an electrifying cultural show on October 27 night. A total of 1200 students from 75 institutions from all over the country participated in the mega event.

The technical events included the ‘Robotics module’, ‘Nirmaan’, ‘Constrolix, Circuitrix’, ‘Innovative Design’ contest, ‘Code Masters’ etc. The other major events were ‘Metanoia’, ‘Full Throttle’, ‘Mirage’, ‘Digisketch’, ‘Through the Lens’, ‘Ad-vantage’, ‘Fiery Five’, ‘Divulge’, and ‘Amazing Race’.

The lecture series featured eminent personalities like Dr K Vishwanathan, retired Deputy Director of ISRO, Guruditya Sinha and Sameer Joshi from Team Indus, Juergen Reinhard from EMPA, Switzerland. The CERN webinar (web seminar) conducted by Dr Rolf Landua was another glittering event of the festival.

Mrinal Talukdar, the Joint Editor, DY-365 was invited as the moderator for the panel discussion on the topic ‘Water Conservation and Management for Urban and Rural Areas of North Eastern Region’ in line with this year’s theme of ‘Water: Wherewithal with Wisdom.’ The event saw collaborations with the Indian Army, CERN, ISRO and UN’s International Year of Water Cooperation. The evening of October 26 was lit up by an electrifying performance of ‘Sycorax’. The event came to a memorable end with the sensational performance of Benny Dayal, the popular Bollywood singer.
