GUWAHATI, Nov 1 – The premier show of Rajesh Bhuyan’s Me and My Sister was today screened at Gold Cinema, Narengi. Touted as one of the eagerly-awaited Assamese movies, the flick deals with the sensitive subject of gender discrimination in the society. The movie is going to hit the theatres tomorrow.
The film produced by NBDK Productions stars Prastuti Parashar, Borosharani Bishaya, Gyanendra Pallav, Saurav Haz-arika, Drishanta and Baishali.
Among those who came to witness the premier show were director Rajesh Bhuyan, besides the members of the cast and crew.
The film revolves around the life of Dolly (Borosha) who had to suffer torture from her husband and in-laws for giving birth to a girl child. The movie is about the struggle Dolly had to undergo and how Chandana (Prastuti), a college friend of Dolly and the wife of a senior government official, relates to the problem of gender bia through the sufferings of Dolly.
The music of the movie has been scored by Bappi and the only song in the movie is sung by Zubeen Garg.
