JAIPUR, May 30 - A team of rural journalists of Assam from different districts representing various print and electronic media met Kailash Chandra Meghawal, Speaker, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in the presence of PRO Rajasthan Assembly, representatives of the Rajasthan Press Club etc., at Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.
The conducted press tour of 20 rural media persons including six female journalists on a Goodwill Mission to Rajasthan from May 23 to June 3 has been organised by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations. The team was led by Zahid Ahmed Tapadar and Samar Kalita of DIPR, Assam.
Interacting with the journalists of Assam, Meghawal said both male and female journalists of Rajasthan are enjoying all facilities and benefits as applicable. On receiving the invitation from Assam journalists, the Speaker assured that he would visit Assam and prior to that a team of journalists from Rajasthan would be sent to Assam on a goodwill mission.
Samar Kalita, DIPRO Nagaon, Assam read out the goodwill message of Hitendra Nath Goswami, Speaker, Assam Legislative Assembly addressed to Kailash Chandra Meghawal, Speaker, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.
Zahid Ahmed Tapadar along with Samar of DIPR Assam felicitated Kailash Chandra Meghawal, Speaker, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly with a seleng sador, sarai and a gamosa. A journalist from Dima Hasao of Assam, Swadeep Hasamsa felicitated him with a traditional Dimasa risa and Dabid Hanse from Karbi Anglong of Assam felicitated him with a traditional Karbi poha.
Appreciating the Assam Government for organising such an event for strengthening friendship and to rekindle the age-old bonhomie between Assam and Rajasthan, the Speaker said that the Rajasthan Government would not leave any stone unturned in maintaining this endless bond of friendship.
