Bethany Convent enter semis

 GUWAHATI, May 30 - Bethany Convent School made it to the semifinals of the 14th Dhansena Sinha Memorial All Assam Inter School Prize Money Cricket Tournament with a 32-run victory against Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti.

In a low scoring quarterfinal match at the Latasil playground here today, Bethany boys scored 109 before being bundled out in 16.2 overs. In reply, Sarala Birla batsmen were all out for 77 in their stipulated 20 overs. In the other match of the day, Arya English School edged past Shrimanta Shankar Academy by one wicket. Chasing a winning target of 152 in 20 overs, Arya boys hit the winning run in 19.4 overs losing nine wickets.

Brief scores: Bethany Convent School 109 (Kamakhya Giri 38, Yuvraj Das 15, Ishant Saha 12; Shubam Agarwal 3/23, Pulkit Jain 3/20). Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti 77 (Ayushman Paul 21; Yuvraj Das 2/12, Rahul Thakur 2/15, Nabajit Boro 2/9).

Shrimanta Shankar Academy 151/6 (Anmol Gohain Barua 34 n.o., Harshadeep Das 18, Raihan Zaman 17; Roshan Shah 3/12). Arya English School 152/9 (Dipak Rajbhar 50, Roshan Shah 43, Dharam Purbey 19; Riyan Borgohain 4/16, Harshit Pratim Das 3/14).
