GUWAHATI, May 28 - The Munin Barkotoki Memorial Trust, instituted in 1995, has invited entries of Assamese books/manuscripts from young writers of promise for this year’s Munin Barkotoki Literary Award.
The award, instituted to encourage young and upcoming writers in Assamese, carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with a memento and a citation.
Applicants must be less than 40 years of age as on December 31, 2019. They should not have more than three published books in Assamese to their credit. If the entry is a published book, the date of publication should be within the period from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2018. Books that have already been awarded at the State or the national level will not be considered for this award. Books on pure science or research monographs will not be considered as well.
Young writers fulfilling the above criteria are invited to submit five copies of their published book or five copies of their manuscript (DTP versions) along with a self-attested copy of their age certificate on or before July 31, 2019 at the Guwahati-based office of the Trust located at ‘Panchavati’, GNB Road, Silpukhuri, Guwahati.
