Abhilesh from Pathsala bags 6th rank in Science

Abhilesh Thakuria (6th), Science
 PATACHARKUCHI, May 25 - Maintaining the rank-holding tradition this year too, Abhilesh Thakuria of Anundoram Barooah Academy of Pathsala bagged the 6th rank in the HS Science Examination-2019 conducted by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council.

Abhilesh obtained 472 marks with a percentage of 94.4. His detailed marks are: English-92, Assamese-96, Computer Science Application-93, Chemistry-97, Mathematics-94, and Physics-91. It may be mentioned that he had scored 95.83 marks in the HSLC examination.

Hoping to become an aeronautical engineer, he wishes to study in the IIT. He has already performed well in the CEE examination and waiting for IIT Entrance result. Of gentle demeanour, Abhilesh heaped praise for his academic success on his teachers and the rector of his school Dr Ranjit Deka for their immense support, besides constant care by his parents and well-wishers.

He studied upto 10 hours before the examination. Hailing from a rural area of Patacharkuchi named Ballartari Suba of Barnalikuchi village, his father Nava Thakuria is presently working as Police ASI at Latasil Police Station in Guwahati while his mother Gitika Thakuria is a homemaker, who was upbeat with the result of her son.

With eyes brimming with tears of joy, Gitika Thakuria said that they had avoided all social and religious functions in order to take care of their son as his father could not spare time to look after him after attending his hectic duty schedule.

Expecting her son to be socially committed in future, she stressed on him being a responsible future citizen. Enjoying reading in his spare time, Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezborua is his favourite writer. Abhilesh also browsed the internet and social media to gather nuggets of wisdom.

The school authority celebrated his success at his alma mater. The students took out a huge procession with AbhilekhThakuria through Pathsala town.

An elated Rector Dr Ranjit Deka informed that the school had till date produced 33 rank holders since 2004, 26 in HS examination and 6 in HSLC examination. Further, more than 53 students qualified for medical colleges, engineering colleges and even IIT. Our students are studying with flying colours in Delhi University and have even cracked the USPC examination. We also provide free studentship to poor but meritorious students, he added. Moreover, three students from the institution, namely Mousumi Parbin got state highest marks 98 in Assamese, Jyotismita Kalita got 98 in History and Jupitara Das got 98 in Anthropology.
