|Darrang shines in HS Arts, Science streams with five rank holders|
MANGALDAI, May 25 - Darrang district, which is considered to be academically less forward, has performed exceedingly well in the HS Final Examinations, 2019 with four top rank holders in the Arts stream, while another State position holder is in the Science stream.

Besides Khushboo Firdous, a student of Brilliant Academy Junior College, Mangaldai who bagged the first position in the Arts stream in the HS Final Examination, 2019, Jupitara Sarma and Srutismrita Basistha, both students of Ranjit Sarma Academy, another private junior college of Mangaldai and Dipankar Das of Brilliant Academy have also brought laurels to the district by securing ranks in the Arts stream. Another student, Partha Pratim Saharia, a student of a new private institution secured the 5th rank in the Science stream.
Jupitara, daughter of retired teacher Sarbananda Sarma and teacher Puspalata Debi and a resident of village Deomornoi, Kharkhowapara has bagged the fourth position with a total of 472 marks and Letter marks in all the six subjects. While interacting with this Correspondent, Jupitara attributed her outstanding success to her hard work with full support from her family, including elder sister and the academic institution led by its Director Girindra Sarma. She expressed her desire to become an administrative officer in the future and join the Cotton University to pursue her Degree course in Political Science as the Major subject.
Similarly, Srutismrita, also a student of Ranjit Sarma Academy bagged the eighth rank in the Arts stream scoring a total of 467 marks and Letter marks in all the six subjects. Srutismrita’s father Suresh Chandra Sarma is a staff member of Nagrijuli Tea Estate, Tamulpur and mother Namita Debi, a housewife. They are at residents of Preeti Nagar, Mangaldai.
Srutismrita like Jupitara also wants to become an administrative officer in the future and now she will join Cotton University to pursue her further studies in Political Science as the main subject.
Meanwhile, Dipankar Das, a student of Brilliant Academy, has bagged the ninth rank scoring a total of 460 marks with Letter marks in all the six subjects. Dipankar is the younger son of Amulya Das, a retired employee of Meghalaya State Transport Corporation and school teacher Junuki Deka of Punia Borkumarpara village near Mangaldai. While talking to this Correspondent, Dipankar said that he used to study for nine to ten hours regularly and was hopeful of securing a rank. He was full of praise for his institution, his family and friends. Dipankar has a strong desire to become a college teacher in the future and now he wishes to join the Cotton University to pursue his degree course with Education as the Major subject.
On the other hand, Partha Pratim Saharia, a student of Trinity Science Junior College at Sipajhar who appeared in the exam from Deomornoi HS School of the district, bagged the fifth position with a total of 473 marks and Letter marks in all the six subjects. Partha, the lone child of small trader Kushal Kumar Saharia and housewife Bobita Saharia of village Satgharia-Majorchuba, attributed his performance to the constant support and guidance of the teachers and management of his academic institution, which adopted him for his two-year study free of cost. Partha, who wants to take up Engineering as his future profession, will now make preparation for the engineering entrance test.
Meanwhile, Kalpana Deka, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Darrang and incharge of the Education Department and Madhab Chandra Deka, Inspector of Schools, Darrang while talking to this Correspondent, have congratulated all the rank holders from the district and also the heads of the institution for bringing pride to the district.
