OIL prog on clean energy held at IIE

 GUWAHATI, May 23 - The valedictory function on Oil Urja–Fuel Efficient Clean Energy, a CSR programme of the Oil India Limited (OIL) and implemented by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, was held at the IIE campus a couple of days back.

The function was attended by chief guest Pranjit Deka, Executive Director (HR&A) Oil India Ltd, Dr Abhijit Sharma, Director IIE, Dr Sriparna B Barua, Head CIE, IIE, officials from IIE, ICCO, and representative beneficiaries of six tea gardens of the surrounding project area, a press release issued here said.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abhijit Sharma said, “More focus has to be made for sustainable economic growth through clean energy solution by collaborative efforts of OIL and IIE in the most backward tea garden areas of Assam.”

Elaborating on ‘Oil Urja’, Pranjit Deka said that OIL had provided 3,000 free customised chullah chimney unit to each household. This was the first time that the specially prepared chimney was installed in the kitchens of the beneficiaries, which helped create a smoke-free environment in the otherwise firewood smoke-filled kitchens,” he said.
