 SHILLONG, May 19 - Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) together with the British High Commission, Kolkata held a workshop on Crisis Management organised here recently.

State Additional Chief Secretary, PW Ingty addressing the gathering during the inaugural session said the objective of the workshop is to establish a working relationship between stakeholders and responders to respond to any disaster in the most effective and efficient manner.

He also added that the SDMA has conducted a number of exercises and mock drills on natural disaster like earthquake, but the State is also hit by different kinds of disasters like landslides, etc., so preparation for such disaster is necessary.

“The SDMA should also be prepared for such disasters,” Ingty said. He also launched the SDMA logo during the workshop.
