Protest against TE manager
DOOMDOOMA, May 19 - Hundreds of irate tea labourers of Beesakopie Tea Estate of Mcleod Russel India Limited situated here staged a dharna in front of the tea garden office Wednesday in protest against the uncouth behaviour and repulsive manners of the manager of the tea garden, DJ Bora. The protest was led by Doomdooma Branch of Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA) .

According to information, the manager of the garden vandalised the quarter of one Tinku Gowala (26), a temporary labourer of the tea garden situated at Trolley Line of the garden on May 11 for not complying with his words. Tinku has been serving in the manager’s bungalow for long and has been living in the company quarter allotted to his father, who was a permanent labourer of the garden. Recently, the manager of the garden told Tinku to go to Guwahati and work at his residence there, which Tinku refused. At this, the manager became infuriated and vandalised his quarter.
