Arunachal Cabinet takes key decisions
 ITANAGAR, May 19 - Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday took a slew of important decisions, including amalgamation of Finance & Planning departments into an integrated department and functionalising two Divisional Commissionerates in the State.

Briefing newsmen, Govt Spokesperson Bamang Felix informed that the Cabinet approved the functioning of Divisional Commissioners with location headquarter of Divisional Commissioner (East) at Namsai and Divisional Commissioner (West) to function temporarily from Yupia, the headquarters of Papum Pare district.

These East and West Divisional Commissioners will be delegated with administrative as well as financial powers and functions.

Moreover, a Committee headed by Dy CM Chowna Mein for Eastern Division and Land Management Minister Nabam Rebia for Western Division shall recommend the modalities for shifting of offices of all other departments. The committee shall submit its report by June 30, Felix, also a Minister in Khandu Cabinet, told newsmen.

The Cabinet also approved amalgamation of Finance & Planning departments into an integrated Department of Finance and Investments, which will be headed by a Development Commissioner.

Moreover, it okayed creation of Director (Border Affairs), Director (IT), three Additional Resident Commissioners, Deputy Resident Commissioner Mumbai and Dy Secretary, CMO into APCS cadre for smooth administration, Felix informed.

The Cabinet also approved for renaming of Tomo Riba State Hospital to Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences Hospital (TRIHMS Hospital). The Cabinet further approved resource transfer to intermediate Panchayat bodies – Zilla Parishad and Anchal Samitis with allocation of Rs 50 crore.

The Cabinet also gave its nod to Free Chemotherapy Scheme to provide relief to cancer patients.
