He pledged to serve the people of Katlicherra though they voted against him. He admitted that the exit of Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is one of the major reasons of party’s debacle.
A BJP worker in Hailakandi commented that the polarisation of Hindu-Muslim votes is the main reason of AIUDF’s success in all the three seats of Hailakandi district.
All the three winning AIUDF candidates commented that they will work for the development of the poor and marginalised people of Hailakandi district. The development of surface communication is also in their priority list, they added.
