|Mohon climbs summit, Manish fails|
IMPHAL, May 19 – Deputy team leader Puyamcha Mohon of the 1st North East India Top of the World Mt Everest Expedition became the last member of the team to reach the summit of Mt Everest today morning.
However Assam’s Manish Deka and Manipur’s A Robert and W James couldn’t make it to the summit, according to expedition organiser Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA).
With Mohon’s success, a total of 10 climbers out of 13, representing six north-eastern States have successfully scaled the world’s highest peak in the last three days.
Meanwhile, Manipur Governor Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh congratulated the team members for their feat.
