2 held with banned drugs in Dhubri

 DHUBRI, May 18 - Dhubri Police in two different raids arrested two individuals for allegedly possessing and dealing with substances banned under the NDPS Act, on Friday evening.

It was informed that police first launched a search operation led by the OC of Gauripur Police Station Satyajit Borthakur in the residence of one Md Jilimuddin Sheikh at Jhaleralga Part-I. From his possession, police recovered 3.6 kg of suspected ganja and 100 contraband tablets, namely Sampex and Nitrosen 10 mg tablets.

Later on Friday night another raid was conducted by Dhubri Police led by the incharge of Nayahat PS Nurul Hussain at Nayahat Bazar.

During the raid, 57 cough syrup bottles, 592 pieces of Spasphen Plus capsules and 116 Netrox10 tablets were seized from the possession of one Shahalom Khan.

Police informed that in both the cases the quantity of banned substances seized under the NDPS Act was sizeable and probably meant for selling to different individuals in the society. It was also added that both the accused behind stocking of such substances were arrested forthwith and legal proceedings initiated against them.
