TINSUKIA, May 18 - In view of the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the country’s longest river bridge – the Dhola Sadiya bridge over River Brahmaputra – on May 26, the Tinsukia district administration has been making all arrangements to ensure that there are no hassles in holding the programme. Security measures have been tightened to avert any untoward incident by both the district administration and security forces. Several meetings have been held to review the situation in this regard.
PM Awas Yojana: To discuss the successful implementation of the Prime Minister Awas Yojana in the district, the Tinsukia district administration on Thursday convened a meeting at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here.
The meeting, presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rina Mech, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, Sub Divisional Officers (Civil) and Revenue Circle Officers of Tinsukia, Margherita and Sadiya, and executive officers of the municipal and town committees of the district. The details of the scheme were projected through a Power Point presentation, and methods to create awareness among the people were discussed so that the maximum number of needy persons in the urban areas of the district were reached. It was also decided that the administration, with the cooperation of civic bodies, would hold ward-wise meetings for generating awareness.
