NSCN-IM condemns raids
Correspondent
DIMAPUR, May 18 - NSCN-IM has expressed its deepest resentment and condemned the “surprise” and “unauthorised raids” on it officials by Assam Rifles.

In a press release, NSCN-IM said contrary to mutually agreed ceasefire ground rules, the Assam Rifles had raided the residence of Toivi Aye, Steering Committee member, NSCN, on May 13 at Purana Bazaar ‘B’, Dimapur, and also the residence of Tia, Joint Secretary, GPRN, on the same day in Dimapur. It urged the authorities to release them immediately so as to avoid further misunderstandings.

The release cautioned that henceforth, the GPRN will no more remain a silent spectator while asking the Assam Rifles as to whether such raids are executed under the knowledge and consent of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It warned that Assam Rifles will have to shoulder all responsibilities in the event of any eventuality.
