Missing Garo man rescued in Odisha

 TURA, May 18 - A 31 year-old man from East Garo Hills (EGH), who was returning home from Chennai and had got lost in Rajamundry in Andhra Pradesh, was rescued last week from Behrampur in Odisha.

Kalingson A Sangma of Songsak Norek Indikkin in EGH, had earlier on April 27 gone to Chennai to find work along with his brother-in-law. However, when he was returning from the city, he got off at Rajamundry to buy food. The train that he was returning in left before he could board it leaving him stranded.

“Being uneducated he was unable to seek assistance from people due to the language barrier. His family had been trying to contact him. The family sought the help of Songsak police to get him back.

Kalingson was located in Behrampur with the help of Odisha police and was reunited with his family on May 12.
