|Preparation on for senior nat’l athletics|
GUWAHATI, May 17 - The Assam Athletics Association (AAA) is gearing up to host the 58th Senior National Athletics Championship in a befitting manner.
It is for the first time that the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has allotted the premier sporting event to Assam which will be organised at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Sarusajai here from June 26 to 29.
To take stock of the preparations, AFI vice-president Ravindra Choudhury has visited the venue on Tuesday. He also inspected the hotels, practice venue, dressing rooms, among others. He discussed about the preparations with the AAA secretary Pradip Nunisa and other officials including Tayabun Nesa, Sarif Ullah, Bishnu Ram Nunisa, Bhupen Choudhury and Biraj Ojha on Tuesday. He had a discussion with Joint Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Mamoni Parme, SAI Director Subhash Basumatary, Sports Authority of Assam’s Sanjib Gogoi. Choudhury expressed his satisfaction with the preparation for the championship, stated a release.
