IMPHAL, May 17 - A seven-day workshop to revive and promote the values of folk tales kicked off on Wednesday in Manipur which was initiated by State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
The SCERT said such a tradition is a wealth of lessons to be learnt that would help in grooming the young children to become better human beings. The workshop is being held at Nambol Higher Secondary School, Nambol in Bishnupur district.
Speaking in the workshop, Manipur Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam said that telling folktales to the students can intrigue their interest towards school. He asserted that the folktales are the treasures of moral values and lessons that need to be instilled in the young minds to enhance their conduct.
