Forest department seizes excavator, dumpers

 BAIHATA CHARIALI, May 17 - Acting on a tip-off, Forest department officials under the leadership of Rabin Baishya, ranger of Sila forest range office, Amingaon seized one excavator (AS 01 DD 7197 ) and one dumper (AS 01 DD 1583 ) at north Phulung near the historic Dirgheswari Temple of North Guwahati on Tuesday when the vehicles were engaged in illegal cutting of government land there.

Similarly, another dumper (AS 01 CC 2251) was also seized by the team at Jaiguru area on the National Highway 31 when it was plying illegally without proper transit document. The seized vehicles have been brought to the Sila forest range office for departmental safe custody in cooperation with the police administration and the Circle Officer of North Guwahati revenue circle.

Earlier on May 11 last the same team had seized three illegal stone chips-laden dumpers at Changsari on National Highway 31. Rabin Baishya, Ranger of Sila forest range office said that the dumpers were seized under Rule 63 and 64 (1) under Assam Minor Mineral Concession Rules 2013 as the transit documents of the dumpers were not genuine. The dumpers were carrying stone chips from Udalguri and Dhansiri division to Guwahati. After being seized, the dumpers were brought and kept at Sila forest range office. The registration number of the seized dumpers are AS 01 FC 6589, AS 26 C 8293 and AS 27 C 3212.
