|Nurses lauded for dedicated service|
GUWAHATI, May 17 - Nurses of Swagat Hospitals here recently took part in a walkathon to create awareness about the adverse effects of smoking, tobacco, alcohol and drugs. The nurses carried various placards and marched along the street.
As part of the programme, a cultural function was also held where the nurses presented traditional folk dances of various states. Some of the nurses were also rewarded by the management for commendable service.
Dr Swagata Khanna, director of Swagat Hospitals talked about the dedication with which nurses work, at times even under lot of stress. She expected that more families would encourage their children to take up the noble profession of nursing so that the ever increasing demand for nurses is met.
Dr Khanna admired her nursing staff and stated that modern-day nurses are well equipped with technology and join hand with doctors to treat and comfort the ailing humanity.
