The performance of Dibrugarh district as whole is not so encouraging. Out of the 14182 students only 8068 (56.89%) have been successful in the exam. Among the successful students, 2328 students have been placed in first division, 2583 students in the second division and 3157 students in the third division. Last year the pass percentage of the district was even low, at 52.97%.
Although other leading schools like Little Flower School, BVFC Model School, Salt Brook School, Montfort School, St Mary’s School and St Xavier’s School etc., in the district failed to grab top positions, their pass percentage has remained above 95%. Most of the failures are reportedly from government- run schools. The Government Boys’ HS School here is under the occupation of the government since April, due to elections, and no classes are being held. Pleas to have a separate strong room complex for election purposes in the city have resulted in zero response.
